FAQs
How do I get started?
Call the Newberg, OR office at 503-482-6888 or the Lake Oswego office at 503-863-2018 to schedule your first in person visit with the doctor and initial blood draw. This first visit entails a detailed health history, physical exam, and a comprehensive blood draw which includes hormones, inflammatory markers, metabolic panel, complete blood cell panel, thyroid markers, and vitamin levels (optional). The second appointment is a review of the blood work and determination of the treatment plan. You are not obligated to a commitment or membership until you have reviewed the lab work with the doctor at the second visit, and decided to start the membership with your doctor.
Do I have to commit to a membership for a specific period of time?
No, although we will have an honest conversation with you after we review your blood work and give you an idea of the length of time we believe may be necessary to achieve your goals for weight loss. The typical time period to get hormones in balance is 6 months to 1 year. Most women will feel better and may choose to stay on treatment for an extended period of time. You have the option to cancel and quit treatment at any time. We do require a 30 day notice to cancel the recurring membership fee.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not. The American insurance model does not align with proactive and preventative health with the exception of basic health screenings. You may use HSA or FSA funds if your plan allows. Insurance does not cover hormone pellets, most vitamin therapies, compounded medications, or regenerative therapies like prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma. You may request a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company for out of network provider coverage and reimbursement.
How often will follow up visits be?
It depends on what kind of treatment we decide upon. Typically the first year involves more frequent follow ups to get you dialed in and make adjustments to the treatment protocol as needed. If you live out of town, then you can choose to do Telehealth for follow up. We offer remote blood draw options if you are unable to drive to the clinic, and live in the states of Oregon and Washington. If your plan does not require a lot of maintenance, then you can choose to do a follow up every 6 months.
Do you offer same day appointments?
It depends on the situation. We have a cancellation list for last minute appointment times that open up. Feel free to text or call the office at Newberg, OR -503-482-6888 or the Lake Oswego office - 503-863-2018 for urgent needs. Medical questions will be addressed via a HIPAA compliant EHR portal. You can message the doctor or staff directly in the portal for medical and appointment needs.
Do you offer health screenings like pap smear and prostate exam?
Not at this time. But for now there are several lovely docs in the area that perform these services, and most are covered by insurance.
Are there any extra or hidden fees?
We strive to make our business as transparent as possible. If we think that you may benefit from extra medications, supplements, or treatments, then we will discuss this with you first and we can make the decision together. This is your health, and you have the power to choose how you invest in your health.
